GUELPHS SEASON ENDS IN A HEARTBREAKING WALKOFF LOSS TO KITCHENER

Guelph Silvercreeks fell to the Kitchener JR Panthers 10-9 on Tuesday night at Jack Couch Park on the final play of the game. The game was tied at nine in the bottom of the tenth when Kitchener singled, scoring one run.

Guelph collected 17 hits and Kitchener had seven in the high-scoring affair.

The Silvercreeks were the first to get on the board in the second when Brendan Boys hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.

Kitchener Panthers tied the game in the bottom of the seventh thanks to an error, and a single.

Kitchener Panthers took the lead in the bottom of the eighth. An error scored one run, to give the Panthers the upper hand, 7-6.

Guelph made the score 9-7 in the top of the ninth after Daniel Devapalan singled, scoring one run, and Kyle Magdic doubled, scoring two runs.

The Panthers tied the game in the bottom of the ninth.

Jackson Long took the loss for the Guelph Silvercreeks. The reliever went two and one-third innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on four hits, striking out two and walking one. Logan Miziolek started the game for the Guelph Silvercreeks. The right-handed pitcher surrendered two hits and two runs (zero earned) over five innings, striking out seven and walking five.

Guelph tallied 17 hits in the game. Boys led Guelph Silvercreeks with three runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The second baseman went 3-for-5 on the day. Boys, Devapalan, and Noah Cantwell each collected three hits for the Guelph Silvercreeks. Zach Martens, Ryan Cutten, and Magdic each collected multiple hits for Guelph.
