CREEKS LOSE DESPITE OUT HITTING VISITING JACKFISH

Even though the Guelph Silvercreeks collected nine hits to Welland Jackfish's eight, they still fell 14-2 on Wednesday at David E. Hastings Stadium in Guelph.

Andrew McMillan, Aidan Edmunds, and Sam Kim each collected two hits for the Silvercreeks.

Welland got on the board early in the top of the first inning after two Jackfish walks, Guelph followed that up with an error to advance the runners, and Welland scored on a wild pitch, each scoring one run.

An RBI single extended the Welland Jackfish lead to 5-0 in the top of the second inning.

Welland scored five runs on three hits in the top of the fourth inning. A tripled, scoring two runs, followed by a double, scoring two runs, and a single, scoring one run.


Jackson Markwood took the loss for the Guelph Silvercreeks. The righty went two innings, surrendering five runs (four earned) on three hits, striking out three and walking four.

The Silvercreeks piled up nine hits in the game. Noah Cantwell and Tanner Luker each drove in one run for Guelph.


Guelph will travel to London to face the Badgers for their next game on Saturday May 30th at legendary Labatt Park. Game time is 6:30pm.
