CREEKS TROUNCE THE BADGERS FOR THEIR FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON

By GameChanger Media

The Guelph Silvercreeks easily dispatched the London Badgers on Saturday at Labatt Park, 16-6.

Guelph jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Aidan Edmunds singled, scoring one run, Noah Cantwell singled, scoring two runs, and Tyler Williams doubled, scoring one run.

Guelph added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Caleb McArthur flew out, and Edmunds singled to right field, each scoring one run.

The Silvercreeks added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Williams singled to center field, and Ryan Cutten walked, each scoring one run.

London answered back, scoring five runs on four hits in the bottom of the fourth inning, but in the end it was too little to overcome the Guelph onslaught.

Ryan Lieng pitched five innings in relief for the Silvercreeks. The righty surrendered five hits and two runs while, striking out six and walking one. Jacob Morgan led things off on the bump for Guelph. The starting pitcher gave up five hits and four runs over three innings, striking out four and walking five.

The Silvercreeks amassed 20 hits in the game. Edmunds went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead the Creeks in hits. Andrew McMillan, Cantwell, Jackson Heimbecker, Williams, and Aaron Mander each collected multiple hits for the Guelph Silvercreeks. Guelph was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Heimbecker made the most plays with 10.

The Guelph Silvercreeks return to play at home on Wednesday June 3rd against the Brantford JR Redsox. Game-time is 7:30pm
