GUELPH SILVERCREEKS CLAIM VICTORY OVER CAMBRIDGE CUBS

Guelph - Guelph Silvercreeks defeated Cambridge Cubs on Sunday at Dickson Park IN Cambridge.

Guelph opened the scoring in the first after Ryan Cutten scored after tagging up.

A Cambridge double, tied the game at one in the bottom of the fourth.

Guelph flipped the game on its head in the top of the fifth, scoring five runs on four hits to take the lead, 6-1. The biggest blow in the inning was an error that drove in one.

Logan Miziolek earned the win for Guelph Silvercreeks 22U. The pitcher allowed three hits and one run over four innings, striking out seven and walking one. Jacob Morgan and Ryan Lieng each appeared in relief for the Silvercreeks.

Guelph amassed 10 hits in the game. Brendan Boys, Jackson Heimbecker, and Cutten each collected two hits for the Silvercreeks. Boys, Noah Cantwell, Caleb McArthur, Sam Kim, and Cutten each drove in one run for Guelph. The Silvercreeks had patience at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. Zach Martens, Cantwell, and McArthur led the team with two walks each. Boys and Cutten each stole multiple bases for Guelph. The Silvercreeks stole five bases in the game. Guelph turned one double play in the game.

Next up for the Guelph Silvercreeks is a game against Waterloo Tigers on Wednesday night in Guelph at Hastings Stadium. Game-time is 7:30pm
