GUELPH SILVERCREEKS PLAY TO A TIE IN WATERLOO AGAINST THE TIGERS

Guelph Silvercreeks and Waterloo Tigers tied 9-9 on Wednesday in Waterloo at Bechtel Park.

Waterloo got on the board early in the first inning after a dropped third strike scored one run.

Two fielder's choice, followed by a single helped the Tigers extend their early lead in the second.

Ryan Cutten hit a solo home run to right field in the top of the sixth for the Guelph Silvercreeks.

In the top of the seventh inning, Guelph Silvercreeks went back into the lead after Cutten was struck by a pitch, Tanner Luker walked, and Owen Sartor hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

A single to centre field, helped Waterloo tie the game at eight in the bottom of the seventh.

A sacrifice fly by Cutten gave Guelph Silvercreeks the lead, 9-8, in the top of the eighth.

A home run helped Waterloo tie the game at nine in the bottom of the eighth.

Logan Miziolek pitched five and two-thirds innings in relief for Guelph Silvercreeks. The hurler allowed five hits and two runs while, striking out five and walking three. Jackson Markwood began the game for Guelph Silvercreeks. The starting pitcher surrendered seven hits and seven runs (six earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out two and walking two.

Guelph Silvercreeks amassed 13 hits in the game. Zach Martens, Aidan Edmunds, Noah Cantwell, Jackson Heimbecker, and Sartor each collected two hits for the Silvercreeks. Cutten and Kyle Magdic each drove in two runs for Guelph. The Silvercreeks turned one double play in the game.

Next up for Guelph Silvercreeks is a game at Brantford against the JR Red Sox on Thursday. Game time is 8 pm.
