GAME RECAP VS WATERLOO



 

RYAN CUTTEN LEADS THE RED HOT CREEKS PAST THE TIGERS IN WATERLOO

Ryan Cutten drove in four runs on two hits to lead the Guelph Silvercreeks past the Waterloo Tigers 12-7 on Tuesday night at Bechtel Park. In the fifth inning, Cutten doubled, scoring three runs.



The Silvercreeks rallied for the victory despite trailing 5-0 in the third.



Waterloo Tigers got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Justin Skorupski doubled, and Tyson Mifflin singled, each scoring one run.


The Tigers added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Max Todd singled, Mifflin singled, and Sam Read grounded out, each scoring one run.



Guelph flipped the game on its head in the top of the seventh, scoring seven runs on four hits to take a 11-7 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Quinn Gammage that drove in three.



Liam Karn earned the win for the Guelph Silvercreeks. The reliever gave up two hits and one run over two innings, striking out none and walking one. Ethan Martin took the loss for the Tigers. They went one inning, allowing six runs on five hits, striking out none and walking three. Ethan Rampersad led things off on the mound for Guelph. They surrendered eight hits and five runs over three innings, striking out three and walking one. Kaden Vecherik stepped on the bump first for Waterloo. The right-handed pitcher gave up five hits and four runs (zero earned) over five innings, striking out three and walking one. Zach Martens collected the save. Judah McArthur appeared in relief for the Silvercreeks.



Guelph amassed 12 hits in the game. Number nine hitter, Nicholas Killingbeck, showed the depth of Guelph's lineup, by leading them with three hits in four at bats. Gammage and Owen Sartor each collected multiple hits for the Silvercreeks. Sawyer Whitaker led Guelph with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating eight walks for the game. Guelph turned one double play in the game.



The Silvercreeks play at home on Wednesday night against the Waterloo Tigers in their next game.
