QUINN GAMMAGE AND LOGAN MIZIOLEK LEAD THE CREEKS PAST THE NATIONALS

Quinn Gammage drove in four runs on two hits to lead the Guelph Silvercreeks past the Stratford Nationals 14-1 on Wednesday at David E. Hastings Stadium. Gammage hit a home run to right field in the fifth inning, scoring two runs, and tripled in the sixth inning, scoring two.
Guelph got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after the Nationals committed an error, Jackson Groves scored after tagging up, and Kyle Magdic singled, each scoring one run.
The Silvercreeks scored five runs on five hits in the bottom of the third inning. Magdic doubled, scoring one run, Owen Sartor singled, scoring one run, Tyler Williams singled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run.
Guelph added three more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on three hits. Alex Camilo singled, scoring one run, and Gammage homered to right field, scoring two runs.
Logan Miziolek earned the win for Guelph. They gave up zero hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out five and walking four. Jake Heinbuch took the loss for Stratford. The starting pitcher went three innings, surrendering eight runs (four earned) on six hits, striking out four and walking two. Matthew Cutten threw one inning of shutout ball for Guelph in relief. The righty surrendered zero hits, striking out none and walking one.
Guelph Silvercreeks tallied 11 hits in the game. Gammage, Alex Wickett, and Magdic each collected two hits for Guelph Silvercreeks 22U. Chase Williams stole two bases. Guelph ran wild on the base paths, collecting four stolen bases for the game. The Silvercreeks turned one double play in the game. The Silvercreeks were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Wickett made the most plays with six.
Next up for the Guelph Silvercreeks is a double-header against the Waterloo Tigers on Friday.
