SILVERCREEKS HUMBLED BY THE CARDINALS

Guelph Silvercreeks had trouble keeping up with Hamilton Jr. Cardinals in a 12-6 loss on Monday at Caledonia's Henning Park.
The Cardinals opened the scoring in the first after Xavier Whittle singled, scoring one run.
Hamilton Cardinals scored six runs on five hits in the bottom of the third inning. Ethan Martin drew a walk, scoring one run, Whittle was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Noah Canzio singled, scoring one run, Lucas Bridger singled, scoring one run, CJ Lowe drew a walk, scoring one run, and an error scored one run.
Guelph Silvercreeks made the score 11-6 in the top of the sixth inning when Noah Cantwell hit a solo home run to left field, a passed ball scored one run, and Brendan Boys singled, scoring two runs.
Tanner Luker pitched four and two-thirds innings in relief for Guelph Silvercreeks. The right-handed pitcher gave up two hits and one run while, striking out six and walking one. Logan Miziolek took the loss for Guelph Silvercreeks. The pitcher went three innings, allowing eight runs on seven hits, striking out four and walking three.
Guelph Silvercreeks piled up nine hits in the game. Boys, Cantwell, and Tyler Williams each collected two hits for Guelph Silvercreeks. Boys led Guelph Silvercreeks with two runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-4 on the day.
Guelph Silvercreeks play at home on Wednesday against Kitchener Jr. Panthers in their next game.
