
RYAN CUTTEN'S BIG DAY LEADS THE SILVERCREEKS PAST THE LAST PLACE CARDINALS

Ryan Cutten drove in five runs on three hits to lead the Guelph Silvercreeks past the Hamilton Jr Cardinals 15-4 on Sunday at Bernie Arbour Memorial Stadium in Hamilton. Cutten tripled in the sixth scoring two, hit a home run to right field in the seventh scoring two, and tripled in the first scoring one.
The Silvercreeks got on the board in the top of the first inning after Cutten tripled, and Jackson Groves hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
Guelph added two runs in the second. Alex Wickett doubled, making the score 4-0.
The Silvercreeks added four more runs in the top of the seventh inning on three hits. Wickett singled, scoring two runs, and Cutten homered to right field, scoring two runs.
Ethan Rampersad earned the win for Guelph Silvercreeks 22U. The starting pitcher allowed three hits and three runs over six innings, striking out seven and walking one. Rhind took the loss for Hamilton Jr Cardinals 22U. The starting pitcher went four and two-thirds innings, giving up seven runs on six hits, striking out two and walking four. Zach Martens appeared in relief for Guelph Silvercreeks 22U.
The Guelph Silvercreeks collected 11 hits in the game. Cutten and Wickett were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for the Guelph Silvercreeks while hitting back-to-back. Alex Camilo led Guelph with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game.
Guelph will travel to Kitchener to take on the Jr. Panthers for their next game on Tuesday night.
