BIG SECOND INNING LEADS THE SILVERCREEKS PAST THE BRANTFORD JR RED SOX

Guelph Silvercreeks scored eight runs in the second inning, which helped them defeat Brantord JR Red Sox 13-2 on Sunday.  Ryan Cutten doubled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Chase Williams singled, scoring one run, Owen Sartor hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Kyle Magdic doubled, scoring three runs, and Noah Cantwell singled, scoring one run.

Guelph Silvercreeks added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning when Sartor doubled, scoring one run, Aidan Edmunds hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Daniel Devapalan singled, scoring two runs.

Matthew Cutten earned the win for Guelph Silvercreeks. The hurler allowed two hits and two runs over four innings, striking out two and walking two. Tanner Luker and Magdic each came on in relief for Guelph Silvercreeks and shutdown Brantord JR Red Sox.

Guelph Silvercreeks amassed 10 hits in the game. Magdic drove the middle of the lineup, leading Guelph Silvercreeks with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Devapalan went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Guelph Silvercreeks in hits. Cantwell collected two hits for Guelph Silvercreeks in four at bats. Guelph Silvercreeks turned one double play in the game.


Guelph Silvercreeks will travel to Kitchener to play the JR Panthers for their next game on Tuesday.
