This past weekend has seen five senior members of the Creeks family officially wrap up their junior baseball careers.
Long time GMBA stalwart Cody Graham, played a vital role in the Creeks success. Graham’s inspirational leadership and work ethic anchored the first base corner for the Creeks for three solid seasons. At the plate Cody was able to drive the ball to all fields and could really make pitchers work with his plate discipline.
Jayce MacKenzie, who joined us from the Ontario Nationals organization and McCook Community College, anchored a solid Creeks starting rotation. The go-to guy for many high-leverage games, Mackenzie’s reliability game in and game out made him a valuable asset in the Creeks starting rotation for three seasons.
Jake Malyk played two solid seasons with the Guelph Silvercreeks. Playing both the outfield and catcher made Jake a valuable asset to the team. Jake’s compact build with his overall quickness, arm strength and energy were evident every time he took to the field.
Chris Procopio played 3B for one season with the Silvercreeks, but his short stint has left a lasting impression with the entire team. The Toronto native joined the Creeks via the Senior Royals, and from the get-go Chris showcased his hitting prowess with his fluid swing and high exit velocities. Chris is returning to the States this fall to continue is collegiate baseball career.
The pride of Fergus Ontario, Graham Wilmot patrolled the outfield for the Creeks for three seasons. Graham’s overall quickness combined with his very good arm strength made him a solid addition to the teams defence. A great clubhouse guy and veteran presence this season, Graham will be taking his tools and returning to play for the University of Guelph Gryphons this fall
The Guelph Silvercreeks Organization would like to take this time to wish all of our graduating players future success both on and off the field. Thank you for all your contributions and congratulations on your wonderful junior careers.
Creeks for life baby.
