Though there’s still plenty up in the air regarding the 2021 Junior baseball season, the Guelph Silvercreeks have been actively planning for the time when they can get back out on the field once again.

The Silvercreeks along with six other teams, have been actively creating a new Inter-County Junior Division. The new loop will include the Brantford Red Sox, Hamilton Cardinals, Kitchener Panthers, Stratford Nationals, St Thomas Tomcats and the Welland Junior Jackfish

The groundwork is in place for the new league to start play in late May, pending Provincial Government approval. Once the teams are given the green light to play, a schedule and safety guidelines will be put in place for all seven teams to adhere to. The Silvercreeks stress, that while their goal is to get the players back out on the field in 2021, their utmost priority is and will always be team safety above all.

In the meantime, the Creeks are temporarily putting their original indoor Tryout/Spring Training schedule dates on hold. The club is looking instead at securing an outdoor field to have Tryouts and Spring Training. Once again, these dates will be dependant on availability and Government approval. An announcement should be released shortly regarding these future tryout dates.

Keep checking the team’s website or Twitter account for further updates.
